Ang Bakya
An entry to BluPrint's AViD 2014 competition, which challenged architects to design a Museum of Contemporary Art. With the goal of unifying the lower and upper classes, our design is inspired by the bakya (Filipino for sandals), with an industrial skin made from recycled rubber tires and plastic that can hold water to cool the interiors. The structure is surrounded by gardens where public installations can be held.
